Social Ads

The right golfers. At the right moment.

Meta for members, guests and buyers. LinkedIn for corporate clients and staff. Campaigns that stand out in the feed because they look like your course — and are measured all the way to the enquiry.

Why social ads alone aren't enough.

The feed sparks interest; it rarely closes. Without a page that leads to an enquiry in three steps and without measurement through to the deal, social stays a reach line item. That's why it sits in the Reach stage of G.R.E.E.N. — built on Groundwork and Experience.

What I actually do

Campaigns that arrive at the club office.

Likes don't pay membership fees. Every campaign gets a goal that shows up in the club — the taster course registration, the membership enquiry, the job application.

My setup standard

  • Pixel and Conversions API before the first ad runs
  • One goal per campaign — never reach and enquiry in one pot
  • Creative rotation by plan, not by gut feeling
  • Existing members excluded from new-customer campaigns
  • Seasonal budget instead of monthly average
  • Comment routine agreed with the club office
  • Monthly report: cost per enquiry and enquiry quality
  1. 01

Audiences built from the course outwards.

Catchment area, golf interests, new residents, visitors to your website — separate ad sets, each with its own goal: taster course, membership, green fee.

  2. 02

    Creatives from your own course.

Real photos and short clips of your facility beat stock imagery. I supply the briefing framework, the formats — Reel, Story, Carousel — and the rotation rhythm so ads don't wear out.

  3. 03

    Season as the plan.

Spring membership, summer guests and events, autumn indoor and winter offers; for brands, season launch and new products. Budgets follow the curve, not the calendar month.

  4. 04

Lead journey instead of lead form.

Instant forms in the feed bring volume but rarely quality. I test both against a landing page — and measure through to the signed membership, not to the form.

  5. 05

LinkedIn for corporate clients and staff.

Managing directors nearby for corporate memberships and events; recruiting for greenkeeping, hospitality and the club office — where those people actually are.

In short

The questions operators ask me.

Which social media advertising works for a golf club?

Meta — Facebook and Instagram — for member acquisition, taster courses and green-fee guests in the catchment area; LinkedIn for corporate memberships, events and recruiting. What matters is less the platform than the measurement: every campaign gets a goal that arrives at the club office — the enquiry, not the like.

Do I need organic posts before running ads?

No. Ads run independently of follower numbers; a well-kept profile helps credibility but isn't a prerequisite. I focus on paid campaigns with conversion measurement. For editorial plans I provide the framework — day-to-day posting stays with the club.

FAQ

And what else matters.

What budget do social ads need for a club?

That depends on catchment area, goal and season. The media budget goes directly to Meta or LinkedIn; I manage the campaigns on an ongoing basis. How much makes sense, I calculate in the discovery call from your member value — not from a flat rate.

Do you also handle community management?

No, my focus is paid campaigns. For comments under ads I set up a short routine with your club office — who answers, how fast, with which building blocks.

Does recruiting work via social ads?

Regionally, very well — especially for greenkeeping, hospitality and the club office. The key is an application in three fields without a mandatory CV in the first step — the CV comes at the interview.

How do I keep ads from cheapening the brand?

No permanent discounts. Offers need an occasion — the taster-course date, the season launch, the event — and the imagery of your course. Price is the last argument, not the first.

How I work

Four steps — from first call to ongoing collaboration.

01

Discovery call

30 minutes, free. You describe the situation, I listen — and tell you honestly whether I can help.

02

Audit

I measure before I recommend: account, tracking, visibility, booking path. Written result, with priorities.

03

Setup sprint

Foundation first: tracking, structure, the first campaigns or pages. Fixed scope, fixed timeframe.

04

Ongoing support

Monthly leadership and execution, quarterly strategy review.
