Green fees in Hamburg: what a round really costs.
The official green fees of 34 golf courses in and around Hamburg, every number taken from the course’s own website. Plus weekends, 9 holes and where you can save.
How much is a green fee in Hamburg?
A green fee for 18 holes at the golf courses in and around Hamburg costs between €55 and €140 on weekdays, with a median of €80. That’s the result of my analysis of the official price lists of 34 facilities, accessed September 26, 2026.
The green fee is what you pay as a guest to play a round on a course that isn’t your home club. I didn’t take the Hamburg prices from booking portals. I read them off the facilities’ own websites: for every course in the Hamburg golf course directory (in German) with its own 18-hole course, always the regular guest rate. 25 of the 34 facilities charge between €55 and €85. 7 charge less than €70, and 9 charge €100 or more.
At the low end are GC Hamburg-Oberalster and GC Lutzhorn at €55 each, and at the top the Hamburger Golf-Club (Falkenstein) at €140. The table is sorted by weekday price. Each row links to the facility’s profile and to the price page (in German) the number comes from.

Regular guest rate according to each facility’s website or price list, accessed September 26, 2026. Where rates are tiered, the price with the “R” on the DGV (German Golf Association) card or with regional playing rights applies. “Members’ guests only”: on weekends, guests may play only when accompanied by a member. The facility itself always has the final word.
Eleven facilities from the directory aren’t included in the statistics because no comparable figure could be read off cleanly: facilities with 6 or 9 holes, where 18 holes means two or three loops; facilities with several equivalent 18-hole courses or a weekday price that only applies Monday to Thursday; one facility whose prices couldn’t be dated; one facility with no green fee to be found; and one club without its own course. Which ones they are and why is explained in the methodology below.
What’s included in the green fee?
The green fee covers your right to play the round you booked, and often the practice facilities too. Rental equipment such as an e-cart or a trolley usually costs extra.
Each facility decides for itself what’s included. According to its website, Golf Hotel Hof Treudelberg includes the driving range and the pitch-and-putt course, Fairway Peiner Hof the driving range plus its 3-hole academy course, and Golfclub Hamburg-Holm the practice facilities. At GolfRange Hamburg-Oststeinbek, the driving range is only included on days you’ve booked a tee time. Rental equipment almost always appears separately on the price list: Golfclub Am Hockenberg, for example, lists €40 for an e-cart over 18 holes and €5 for a pull trolley (all details accessed September 26, 2026).
More important than what’s included is your ticket in. Guest rules almost always require membership in a recognized golf club. According to their websites, Golfclub Hamburg-Ahrensburg asks for “merely an active membership in a recognized golf club,” and at Golf Gut Glinde “a current membership must be in place” (both translated from German). Many clubs also set a handicap limit: 54 at Gut Bissenmoor, 36 at Golf-Club Hamburg Wendlohe. There are exceptions. Golfclub Siek/Ahrensburg states “DGV card not required” (translated from German). If you don’t have a card yet, the guide to the Fernmitgliedschaft (distance membership) shows the cheapest way to get one, and the Platzreife comparison for Hamburg (in German) shows how to earn Germany’s golf proficiency certificate.
How much more is the green fee on weekends?
Most Hamburg facilities charge more on weekends, with a median surcharge of €10 over the weekday price. 5 of the 34 facilities only let guests on the course on weekends when accompanied by a member, or not at all.
I measured the surcharge at the 28 facilities where guests can play freely on weekends. 4 of them charge the same price every day. Some also set time windows: according to their websites, Wendlohe welcomes weekend guests from 1 p.m., and Hittfeld until 10 a.m. and from 2 p.m. So before a weekend round, plan two steps: read the guest rules, then book your tee time.
What does the “R” on the DGV card mean for the green fee?
Some Hamburg clubs tier their green fee by the marking on your DGV membership card: with the “R” (for regional) you pay the regular price, without it you pay a surcharge. At Golfclub Hamburg-Walddörfer, according to its website, that means €100 instead of €150 for 18 holes.
More examples from the survey: Golf Club St. Dionys lists €110 with the “R” and €120 without it, and Golf-Club am Sachsenwald €85 with regional playing rights and €110 without. Hamburger Land- und Golf-Club Hittfeld adds a surcharge of 50 percent for players from the VcG (association for golfers without a home club). If you’re a member of a Hamburg club, this barely matters. If you’re a distance member without an “R,” it does. I explain exactly what the “R” means and who gets it in the guide to the Fernmitgliedschaft and the golden “R”.
How can I save on green fees?
You save the most by playing with a member in your flight, followed by sunset rates and online booking. And if you’re short on time, play 9 holes: the median is €50.
Member-guest rates are the biggest lever. Golf-Club Gut Grambek charges guests of its members €50 instead of €80 on weekdays, and Golf-Club Escheburg €40 instead of €80. Golf Gut Glinde, Golfpark Weidenhof and Gut Bissenmoor each take €10 off when you play with a member. At Golf Club Lutzhorn, the sunset rate from 4 p.m. costs €35 instead of €55. At GolfRange Hamburg-Oststeinbek, booking online is cheaper than paying on site, and Golfclub Hamburg Gut Waldhof notes “Discounted price for online booking” below its prices. All details according to the websites, accessed September 26, 2026.
The second question is whether paying green fees makes sense in the long run. If you play regularly, at some point you’ll weigh it against an annual membership fee. For golfers who’d rather play different courses flexibly, the Fernmitgliedschaft is often the cheaper route to a DGV card. And in winter or after work, Hamburg has ten indoor facilities with simulators that charge by the hour instead of by the round.
How up to date are the clubs’ green fee prices?
Often you can’t tell: only 14 of 43 facilities with online prices show a year or a validity date next to their regular green fees. At 29, the price appears on the page without a date.
For you as a guest, that means the number on the website is a good guide, not a promise. Ask briefly when you book your tee time, especially at the start of the season in April. Two facilities also publish their price list only as an image. I read those by hand. Search engines and AI assistants have a hard time reading text in images, and these are exactly the systems that now answer the question of what a round costs.
Methodology
How the analysis was done
Verifiable by design: you can check every number yourself on the linked price page.
- 45 facilities checked every entry in the Hamburg golf course directory (based on the DGV club directory), with duplicate entries for the same operator merged
- 34 facilities in the statistics own course with at least 18 holes, regular 18-hole guest rate Monday–Friday, the price with the “R” where rates are tiered; time-limited specials not counted as the base price
- 11 not in the statistics five facilities with 6 or 9 holes · two with several equivalent 18-hole combinations or courses · one with a weekday price for Mon–Thu only · one whose prices couldn’t be dated · one with no green fee to be found · one club without its own course
- 9/26 Accessed September 26, 2026 only the facility’s own website or price list, no portals; every price quote then automatically checked a second time against the live page, two image-only price lists by hand
